January 4, 1996

Chris Boraas
15030 Fluorine Street NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
Work Phone 828-0182 Home Phone 422-8154

Jessie Hart,Finance Officer
Ramsey Municipal Center
15153 Nowthen Blvd NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

PLAI~NING AND ZONING COM~ISSION POSITION

Ms Jessie Hart:

My family and I have lived in one of the older developments in
Ramsey for the past eight years. Through these years I've been
frequently confronted with the "Classic" Ramsey zoning issues
including dirt roads, large lots, horses, septic systems, and
"Junk Cars". Until four months ago my frustration in these areas
has been mostly internalized and subsequently not very effective.

More recently, I've taken it upon myself to address several of
these issues. After surveying the neighborhood and several
discussions with Steve Jankowski I've completed a petition for
bituminous paving of our currently dirt streets. The petition's
upcoming public hearing may be tense however I feel strongly this
neighborhood will continue its decline if something tangible
isn't done.

In one of my later discussions with Steve Jankowski he mentioned
that I might consider applying for one of the openings on the
planning and zoning commission. I am relatively new to the
mechanics of municipal affairs but being a resident of Ramsey I
have a vested interest in its development. After reflecting on
Steve's idea, I've decided that I would like to be considered for
a position on this commission.

My background, as described by the attached resume, is in
accounting. I think my experience working with financial detail
may compliment my duties on this commission. In addition, I
believe my ability to maintain an objective common sense
perspective regarding the issues of Ramsey can be a strong asset.

In addition to that described by the attached resume, I have been
employed by Apertus Technologies in Eden Prairie as a Senior
Accountant since October of 1994.

Thank you for your consideration,
Chris Boraas
