I I I I I I I I I I Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #96-02-XXX RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 3/4 4X4 TRUCK WITH SNOW PLOW AND TOPPER WHEREAS, at the Council's Finance Committee meeting of February 27, 1996, staff presented a request for the purchase of one 3/4 ton 4X4 truck with snow plow and topper, as a replacement for existing vehicle #618; and WHEREAs, included in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget was the purchase of one 3/4 ton 4X4 'a'uck with snow plow and topper, as a replacement for existing vehicle #618 at a total price of $23,000.00; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the purchase of the truck through the Hermepin County Purchasing Cooperative meets all statutory bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, Superior Ford was awarded the contract for supplying the 1996 light trucks at a price of $20,605.62 [includes sales tax] plus license; and WHEREAS, Superior Ford was awarded the contract for supplying the snow plow equipment but said equipment does not meet the City's specifications; and WHEREAS, quotes for snow plow equipment were received and Truck Utilities Mfg., Co. can provide an 8' snow plow which meets the City's specifications at a price of $2,502.75 [includes sales taX]; and WHEREAS, the stun of $9,667.00 is available from the Equipment Replacement Fund and was taken into consideration in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget; and WHEREAS, the amount estimated for the topper at $500.00 causes a slight overage in the budget that Can be funded through a trade-in of the existing vehicle #618 or absorbed in the general operating budget; and WHEREAs, the Finance Committee approved this recommendation and hereby recommends the Ramsey City Council authorize the purchase and funding sources as detailed in this resolution. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the~ Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the capital purchase of one 3/4 ton 4X4 track from Superior Ford at a price of $20,605.62 plus license, or a reduced price if trade- in allowed.
