I I I I i CASE # Z APPROVAL OF 1996 PARK PROJECTS By: Ryan R. Schroeder, City Administrator Within the 1996 Capital Improvements Program are the following park projects: 1. Central Park Improvements $105,000 2. Titterud Park Parking Lot/Light Timer 18,500 3. Flintwood Terrace Playground 32,000 4. Elementary School Hockey Rink 10,0130 5. Emerald Pond Park Phase Two 106,000 6. CR #116 Trail 1994 allocation Number 4 abovo_ was previously authorized and is effectively completed. Number 6 above is part of the C.R. #116/T.H. #47 intersection improvement. The Emerald Pond Park is still under review by the neighborhood and will come to a subsequent meeting for review. Enclosed is the summary from the Park Commission/RYAA meeting on the Central Park budget as follows: t. Field Lighting $82,000 2. Security Lighting 5,000 3. Fencing 3,300 4. Landscape improvements 8,400 5. Signage 2,500 6. Basketball Standard 1,8t30 7. Contingency 2,000 Also enclosed is a request for bids for the Flintwood Playground at a cost of $32,000. Not enclosed, but requested for authorization, are the Titterud improvements including paving of the parking lot for $15,000 and adding a timer to the tennis court lighting for $3,500. All of these items have been discussed in great detail by the Park Commission and have been discussed by Council in the past. Council Action: Motion to apprOve the Central Park improvements for 1996 and authorize a request for bids on the field lighting and request for proposals on the balance of the budget. Motion to apprOve the Flintwood Terrace budget and authorize bids as presented. Motion to approve the Titterud Park budget and authorize request for proposals for the budgeted work.
