Please consider these
comments as you and the County Public Works Committee update this Five Year Plan.

The City desires the project involving the reconstruction of C.S.A.H. #5 at T.H. #47 be
accelerated in the scheduling process. Two reasons for this project acceleration include the fact that
the City will shortly complete a corridor study along T.H. g47. This corridor study defines more
clearly the extent of the project than in the past. I feel that the proposed scope of the project
represents a reduction over that which may have been anticipated in the past. It would also be
desirable to sohedule this project for FY 1999 when MnlX)T is proposing to do several
consmaction projects along T.H. g47, which will likely involve a detour of the highway.

Second, the City remains highly supportive of the extension of C.R. #116 between C.R. #56 and
C.R. #83, which is currently scheduled for 1998. Because C.R. #116 represents a critical
infrastructure element in the rapidly developing Ramsey/Anoka industrial area, the City encourages
the consideration of the further expansion of C.R. #116 from C.R. #83 to T.H. #10.

Third, the City requests the consideration of expanding C.R. #116 between C.R. #57 and T.H.
#47, and C.R. #57 between C.R. #116 and T.H. #10 from two to four lanes. The purpose of
both these requests stem from the City's anticipation of heavy traffic generation from the
developing commercial/industrial area adjacent to these routes.

Finally, the CitY requests the consideration of the improvement of C.R. #63 between C.R. #83 and
C.S.A.H. #5. ~lthough this roadway is not in a rapidly developing portion of the City, the City
feels its current condition is sufficiently poor to warrant improvement.
