Consensus of the Committee was that they do not believe there is an ~nterest in this water
serv/ce extension at this time but if a large petition is brought forward, it would be
addressed again.

Case #4: Update on Anoka City Power Line

City Engineer Jankowski reported that he met with the City of Anoka the day before with
regard to the power transmission lines. They have requested to have wooden cross-arms
for the underbuild line that would carry smaller lines maintained on a steel pole. He
understood City Council wanted alt steel poles.

City Administrator Schroeder stated the issue is more than aesthetics. Anoka Electric
Cooperative reported it's a reasonable assumption there will be birds that will short out
lines because of steel cross arms. That could not happen v, dth a wooden cross ann. The
issue is a simple operating issue, and we recommend allowing for the wooden cross arm.

Mr. Jankowski stated there will be one wood pole proposed along the railroad tracks.
Councilmember Zimmerman commented on preserving aesthetics to the area.
ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to
adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beahen and Zimmerman. Voting No:
None.

The regular meeting of the Road and Bridge Committee adjourned at 6:04 p.m.

Respectfully submitted/

~ecording~Secretary
City Engineer

I
I
I
I
I
I
