CASE #

PRESENTATION BY MINNESOTA'S MAGIC MIDWAY, INC.
By: Ryan R. Schroeder, City Administrator

Background:

The City has been contacted by "Minnesota's Magic Midway, Inc." requesting Council
consideration of their request for provision of a carnival within the community. This company has
been operating witl!i.'n the state for many years and offices out of Bums Township. The owner,
Skip Reinke, commented to me that, given Ramsey's current population, he felt that the
community could support a carnival with 15 - 18 rides.

This company provides the carnival attraction at many state community events and celebrations.
The Lions picnic, .however, has utilized a different vendor in the past and Mr. Reinke is not
expecting to be a part of that event.

While Mr. Reinke is requesting permission to set up a carnival, the Council may wish to hear his
presentation and direct staff to provide whatever follow-up research deemed appropriate.

Council Action:

Based upon Discussion

Reviewed by:

City Administrator

CC: 04/23/96

/jmt
