We posted
the position internally, then advertised in the Anoka County Union & Shopper. Thirty-eight
people requested application packets and twenty-four people returned completed applications.
Police Sergeant David Gustafson, Police Records Manager Arlene Stafford, and I interviewed
and tested the six top-ranked candidates. On the basis of our evaluation, we are recommending
that an offer of part-time employment be extended to Kelly Meier at a starting salary of $8.99 per
hour, which is the advertised rate and the minimum of the salary range. Ms. Meier is available to
start work immediately after her hiring is authorized.

Committee Action:

Motion to recommend that Council authorize hiring Kelly Meier to fill the position of Part-time
Transcriber for the Police Department for approximately 20 hours per month.

Reviewed By:

City Administrator
Administrative Services Manager
PC 04/23/96

Copies also distributed to:
Police Sergeant
