I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Boos replied that the court at Central Park is not being used, and that it would probably be <br />best to wait until residents requested one at Solstice. <br /> <br />Since Solstice Park will probably be the only park within the Praire Recreation District, and with <br />the additional funds available due to new home construction, the Commission should decide <br />whether funds for further landscaping, signage, benches and other miscellaneous items be <br />allocated. <br /> <br />Commissioner Skinner asked whether the sundial is in place to which Mr. Boos gave a negative <br />answer. <br /> <br />Co-Chair Cook inquired whether the remainder of the funds would be "left in the bank". Mr. <br />Boos indicated that they would. <br /> <br />Motion by Commi~'ssioner Ostrtnn and seconded by Commissioner LaMere to recommend City <br />Council allocate $9,000 from the Prairie Recreation District for development in Solstice Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice-Chair Cook, Commissioners Droegemueller, Johns, LaMere, <br />Ostrum and Skinner. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Asfahl. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />19~6 IMPROVEMENTS FOR CENTRAL PARK <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos reviewed the draft budget that the City Council <br />February 27, 1996 as recommended by the Commission. <br /> <br />Only one additional request was received requesting a swimming pool at Central. <br />indicated that this may not be practical this year. <br /> <br />approved <br /> <br />Mr. Boos <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed the draft budget as approved by Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johns and seconded by Commissioner Droegemueller to approve <br />Central Park's 1996 Improvements and direct Staff to implement the project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice-Chair Cook, Commissioners Droegemueller, Johns, LaMere, <br />Ostrum and Skinner. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Asfahl. <br /> <br />Case #4: 1996 IMPROVEMENTS TO EMERALD POND PARK <br /> <br />After reviewing the comments received' from residents from a recent survey, Parks/Utilities <br />Supervisor Boos indicated that, as expected, the most controversial item raised was the issue of a <br />sidewalk from the north line of Chestnut Hills and along the western side of Potassium.
