! ! Councilmember B~eyer commented that some years ago, we offered this building to the Anoka County Historical ~Society and they did not want it. Councilmember Peterson reiterated that the school did not want it when it was last offered either. Councilmember Ztmmerman suggested we need to get total costs up front and let people know what it really will cost. Councilmember Beyer stated there's never been a structural engineer in to look at the building. We need to get better estimates. Mr. Schroeder staied that we said we would remodel the Public Works building for $280,000 and we will. We estimated $600,000 as a budget for the Police Department building and we will do that for that amount also. We will be given a budget to work with and we will work with that amount of money.i City Council will be able to stop the project if the bid scale is too high. Staff cannot or will not proceed without bids. Case #15: Report from Finance Committee 1) Authorize Various 1996 Capital Purchases Finance Officer Hart stated that the Finance Committee was miscellaneous capital purchases. presented with a number of Motion by Counoilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve the purchase of the following capital outlay items included in the 1996 adopted General Fund and Enterprise Funds budgets: General Fund: Administration - thermal binder, spiral binder and two transcribers. Elections - five single voting booths, General Government Buildings - furniture for mall area, Police;Department - radar unit and a typewriter, Fire Department - SCBA harness, SCBA bottles (3), hand held radios (2), pagers with chargers (4), 1-1/2" nozzle, 1,500 gallon drop tank, 24" 8HSP Gas smoke extractor, 600' 1-3/4" attack line, Street Maintenance/Snow Plowing - sander for vehicle;#610, Parks and Recreation - 84" turf aerator, Enterprise Funds: Water Utility Fund - polyphosPhate Tank with two pumps, hydrant/water main diffuser and valve turning machine. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen, Beyer and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. 2) Authorize Advertisement for Bids for Articulated Loader with Snow Plow and Wing Finance Officer Hart stated that included in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget is $110,000 for the purchase of one three-yard, articulated loader with snow plow and wing. This amount is net of an anticipated trade in value of $20,000. This purchase is a replacement for unit #605. Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adopt Resolution #96-01-031 authorizing advertisement of bids for three-yard, articulated loader with snow plow and wing. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Peterson, Beahen and Zimmerman.
