I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Art Raudio, Devoloper, expressed a concern of safety on Highway #47. He stated there is a <br />meeting with Anoka County on March 25, and he felt that a workshop should be scheduled to <br />discuss the HighWay #47 Corridor Study prior to the 25th. This would allow concerns about #47 <br />to be addressed and the facts could be presented to the County. He touched on the accesses and <br />the curve plus the amount of right-of-way given. <br /> <br />Councilmember Z, immerman felt that the number one priority is County Road #5 and Trunk <br />Highway #47. <br /> <br />Mr. Raudio sugge~Sted doing a quick study of what it's cost the City in TIF because of not being <br />able to get development in that area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Mayor Hardin to schedule a workshop for <br />Tuesday, March 19, 1996, at 7:00 p.m. The workshop will consist of Council, staff, and <br />interested parties p~lus the County Commissioner and someone from the County Engineer's office. <br />The main topic would be Highway #47. <br /> <br />Mr. Deemer stated that the County plan to put new roads in may be helpful and asked for the <br />Planning Commission to be invited to see these plans. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to prioritize the <br />projects (County ~-Iighway System Improvement) as follows: 1) Realignment of C.S.A.H. #5 <br />and T.H. #47; 2) Extension of C.R. #116 between C.R. #56 and C.R. #83, C.R. #116 between <br />C.R. #57 and T.H. #47 and C.R. #57 between C.R. #116 and T.H. #10; and 3) Improvement of <br />C.R. #63 between C.R. #83 and C.S.A.H. #5. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #21: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Public Works Maintenance Worker Appointment <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that the Personnel Committee is recommending hiring <br />Duane Dordahl as Public Works Maintenance Workers. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize hiring of <br />Duane Dordahl as a Public Works Maintenance Worker at a starting salary of $10 per hour. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Volunteer. Fire Fighter Appointments <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that with the resignation of two fire fighters, the Personnel <br />Committee is recommending the hiring of two fire fighters. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize staff to <br />hire two Volunteer~Fire Fighters from the current list of eligible candidates. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
