Mickey and Wayne Adams
5335 180th Avenue N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

Re: Section 9.11.10 (Off Street Parking)

We would like this letter to be entered into the record of the Planning Commission public hearing.

When we bought our two and a half acres in Ramsey three years ago we thought we had bought
our little piece of God's count~,. When we told friends and relatives about our find we were so
happy until more than one person said to us, "Oh we looked in Ramsey but it looks too much like
a used car lot with all the rusted cars and junk in yards, etc." We were really upset because we
thought everything looked so pretty. Well, the snow melted and voila, there appeared rusty cars
and junk in yards and fields. We were embarrassed to have friends come here so we found a way
we could give directions so they could come a way with the least amount of junk to look at. We
had told everyone how pretty it was out here with the trees and wetlands, how could we have
them see all the junk that lays around.

We take a great deal of pride in our community, our yard and our home. As we drive around the
city you see junk cars and junk in general piled in back of or on the side of houses, garages, sheds,
out of the view of the owner but in full view of the people living in back of or on the side of these
places not to mention the people that are driving through and saying, "I'm sure glad I don't live in
Ramsey with all this junk and junk cars laying around!" Just because it is out of the owner's sight
doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

We very much support this ordinance, however, why do people have until November 30, 1997 to
comply and is there some way to insist people clean up their messes also?

Let's be proud of our city and let that pride show] Let's try to get rid of the perception that the
northern suburbs is where ali the slobs live.

Thank You,
