As you may recall, we hired an outside contractor to <br />come in with one street sweeper to work with ours and I was very satisfied with the results. Last <br />year we tried working with Andover Public Works and we didn't get done until about mid-June; <br />this year we were done in mid-May (about three weeks of actual street sweeping). I propose doing <br />the same for next year. <br /> <br />We are now in the process of patching potholes and getting the streets ready for sealcoating. <br />Pothole patching will last most of the summer and we have some large areas to dig out due to frost <br />boils that broke the road up in several places. <br /> <br />Equipment maintenance consisted of oil changes, spring work on Unit #610, transmission and <br />brake work and axle bearings and seals on Unit #608 plus other miscellaneous shop work. <br /> <br />We installed some street name signs in new developments and repaired or replaced some old signs <br />damaged over the winter. We also repaired or replaced some traffic control signs. Trash and fire <br />pick-up was mainly tires and some appliances that we got rid of at the Ramsey Clean-up Day. <br /> <br />The plows are off the trucks and the boulevard damage and mailboxes have all been repaired. <br /> <br />//kas <br /> <br /> <br />
