MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />DATE: June 17, 1996 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approval to Operate an Artwork and Gun Raffle <br /> <br />The attached application from Anoka County Pheasants Forever for exemption from a lawful <br />gambling license to hold an artwork and gun raffle during the 1996 Game Fair, which is held in <br />the City of Ramsey. City approval/denial is necessary under the State Statutes. Anoka County <br />Pheasants Forever meets all of the requirements which allows them to remain exempt from <br />licensing, primarily from the standpoint that the items to be raffled are valued at less than <br />$750.00. <br /> <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by. a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
