Case <br /> <br /> REQUEST PROPOSALS FOR ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES FOR THE EXTENSION OF MCKINLEY STREET <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Last week we received notice that Sauter and Son Excavating has arranged for the purchase of a <br />parcel of land north of the railroad tracks and will be submitting a site plan for the construction of <br />an office and shop facility. Access to this facility will be on the planned extension of McKinley <br />Street. Currently, the City has let a contract for the improvement of McKinley Street for a distance <br />of 400 feet west of McKinley Street. The site plan will require the road to extend an additional <br />1,400 feet. Mr. Sauter has indicated he would like to construct this facility in the fall, and it would <br />be desirable to have the street in Place to coincide with the onset of his operation. <br /> <br />I would propose that the City initiate the extension of this roadway by soliciting proposals for <br />engineering services to prepare plans and specifications for the extension of this road. I would <br />suggest we request proposals from MSA Inc., John Oliver and Associates, and Hakanson <br />Anderson, Inc. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend solicitation of engineering proposals for the extension of McKinley Street a <br />distance of 1,400 feet. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Engineer <br /> <br />CC: 7/9/96 <br /> <br />/kas <br /> <br /> <br />
