I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 1996, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:31 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Recommendation to Hire Part-Time Transcriber <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith announced that the City received 24 applications for <br />the position of Part-Time Transcriber for the Police Department. She, along with Police Sergeant <br />Gustafson and Police Records Manager Stafford, interviewed and tested the six, top-ranked <br />candidates. The recommendation is to hire Kelly Meier. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to recommend that Council <br />authorize hiring Kelly Meier to fill the position of Part-Time Transcriber for the Police Department <br />for approximately 20 hours per month at a starting salary of $8.99 per hour, contingent upon <br />license check, physical and drug test. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer. Voting No: <br />None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Options for Part-Time Secretary Position <br />Administrative Services Manager wait~ Smith reported that only four people returned applications <br />for the part-time secretary position and none of them had any experience taking minutes. She <br />stated she is currently exploring other options such as using a contract minute taking service or a <br />temporary employment agency. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to recommend Council <br />authorize staff to contract for the minutes at a not-to-exceed price but to continue to negotiate. <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/April 23, 1996 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
