I <br />! <br /> <br />Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-07- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENT ALLOCATING $2900 FROM <br />THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />RECORDS MANAGEMENT SERVICES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is required to retain certain records but has not <br />purged any records since 1976; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Police Department to purge and organize its <br />records before moving to its new building in late 1996; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the total cost of professional assistance, provided by <br />Beverly Swanson, in purging records, developing a records retention schedule specific to the <br />department, and designing and implementing a filing system, will be approximately $2900; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no funding was provided for in the Adopted 1996 General Fund Operating <br />Budget for such services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has the ability to provide funding for this purchase <br />through a re-allocation of the Council Contingency within the Adopted 1996 Operating Budget. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment allocating $2900 <br />from the Council Contingency Fund for the purchase of Police Department records <br />management services. <br /> <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the mayor and city administrator to <br />enter into a contract with Beverly Swanson to provide Police Department records management <br />services. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br /> <br />
