Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #96-0% RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENT ALLOCATING $700 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO PRELIMINARY BREATH TESTERS [ALCO-SENSORS] WHEREAS, the Police Department utilizes Preliminary Breath Testers [PBT's] in law enforcement practices; and WHEREAS, the Department recently lost one of only two units in service; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for efficiency to replace the lost unit and is practical to add a third unit; and WHEREAS, the total cost for two units is approximately $700 and funding was not provided for in the Adopted 1996 General Fund Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, there exists the Drug Forfeiture/Police Special Fund for which this would be an eligible expenditure. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment transferring $700 to the General Fund from the Drug Forfeiture/Police Special Fund for the purchase of two PBT's. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 23rd day of July, 1996.
