I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> i <br /> I <br />,I <br /> I <br /> I <br />,I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br /> <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey PersonneI Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 1996, at the <br />Ramsey Municipa~l Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:16 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: LELS Contract Ratification <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Wake Smith stated that the City's negotiating team and <br />representatives of LELS (Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc.) have negotiated an employment <br />agreement that covers the period of January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1997. The contract <br />provides for a 3% increase in wages, effective January 1, 1996, and a 3% increase in wages <br />effective January :1, 1997. It also provides a $22 per month increase in the City's contribution to <br />family health care coverage (making it $312 per month) effective August 1, 1996 and $22 per <br />month increase (making it $334 per month) effective August 1, 1997. Single coverage remains the <br />same. The contract adds one by-back holiday. The contract also adds an extra $1.0 per month for <br />the Investigator's clothing allowance which brings that amount to $110. Finally, it eliminates the <br />requirement for testing before employees are eligible for Proficiency Pay (step increases). <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Mayor Hardin to recommend that City <br />Council adopt the ~'esolution approving the negotiated 1996-1997 labor agreement between the City <br />and Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting-Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer.
