I I I I I I I I I I I PUBLIC tIEARING PLANNI~G COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MJffgNESOTA The Ramsey Planting Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 1996, at the Ramsey Muni~pal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input regarding a Request for a Conditional Use Permit for an Off-Site Advertising Sign; Case of Flolm's Super Bowl. Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden Commissioner Benjamin Deemer Commissioner Paul Holland Commissioner Sharon Jensen Commissioner Charles LaDue Commissioner Michael Terry Commissioner Bradley Thorud AIsc Present: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik City Engineer Steve Jankowski c~r,L TO ORI)E'~ chairperson Bawd~n called the public heating to order at 7:48 p.m. PRESENTATION Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik explained that Holm's Super Bowl, Inc. is requesting a Conditional I,lse permit far an off-site advertising sign_ She explained that City Code restricts off-site advertising signs. CI~N INPUT Wayne BidWell stated that the sign cm ttighway #10 was neCessary, due to the business being located one block from HighWay #10. He pointed out that a sign has been there for a number of years, and was removed for reamns beyond the applicant's control. Mr. Bidwell stated that this was a request to replace the sign. Bill Dubats 'explained that he was the owner of the property and requested approval of the Conditional Use Pen:alt. Mr. Dubats pointed out that there has been a sign there since 1979. He explained that the sign~ would be consistent with the neighborhood. Mr. Dubats added that the new , / oveners of Holm s Super Bowl, Inc. have done a good job restoring the business.
