I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I FC CASE # [ AWARD CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL AUDIT SERVICES By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer Background: On July 23, 1996, the City Council authorized the preparation and distribution of Requests for Proposals for Prgfessional Audit Services [RFP]. This is a professional service and, therefore, is not bound by the statutory bidding laws. RFP's [copy attached] were mailed directly to seven finns, each of which is currently active in the Minnesota Oovernment Finance Officers Association [MNGFOA] and all of which actively audit cities in the~ metropolitan area. Those finns solicited are as follows: Boeckermann, Heinen and Mayer, CPA's Bloomington, Minnesota Deloitte & Touche Mixmeapolis, Minnesota Eide, Helmeke & Co. Minneapolis, Minnesota Kern, DeWenter, Viere, LTD. St. Cloud, Minnesota Malloy, Montague, Karnowski, Radosevich & Co., P.A. Minneapolis, Minnesota McGladrey & Pullen Minneapolis, Minnesota Tautges, Redpath & Co., LTD White Bear Lake, Minnesota The RFP requested a three-year contract, for the City and the Fire Relief Association, with guaranteed not-to-exceed prices for each of the three years. It was also requested that a deduct amount be provided as an option to the auditors preparing the report [in reproducible form] with the City making the copies. The proposals aredue on Monday, September 23, 1996, at 3:00 p.m., therefore, the results were not available for the preparation of this case. It is anticipated that the information summarized and recommendati;on will be available at the meeting.
