I I I I I I I I I I I I I ! I I I Dear City Engineer; ~$~ ............ I am unable to attend the meeting September 11, 1996 and I am writing to let my opinion be known and heard. I am in dissagreement to the city putting up the road black for several reasons. 1. By the city closing the road the city is doing the.work we pay our police force to~do,which is controlling the speed limit of neighboring cars, etc. 2r My children are grown now and I have lived in my home at tbis Ramsey address since 1978. I had three small children, the neighbor next door had five children~ and the neighbor directly across the:street had two small children. We did not allow our children tO accupy the road (Willemite) do to.ali"the traffic~ We, as accountabl~ parents knew it was our responsibility to regu].ate Where and when it was safe for them to play with-in the neighborhood. In fact. those of us that did day-care knew that the t~sffic flow in the neighborhood and around our homes was only our responsibility where any child was concerned~ 3. The months'you have chose to close this road are not going to affect the home in question because school is in session and their children will be in school the majority of the time the road is designated to be closed. 4. My taxes pgy for all the roads with-in the county of Ramsey and it is not fair to close the road for one family and not for ali_ tax payers. If the city feels this way L would gladly have had my road closed each and every we~'.kend so to increased traffic flow and I had t~o limit where my ch~!dre~ could ride their bikes on weekends. If the road :i.s to be closed for t:~:affic control for one family then I think the party concerned, should buy the i!snd th~ road is on and the road shou.!d no lc, nger be
