CASE # 12A <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND LEVY OF ASSESSMENTS FOR PAST-DUE CHARGES ON <br />MUNICgPAL UTILITY BILLS AND CURRENT SERVICES RENDERED <br /> By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ram~ey provides varying services that are billed directly to residents through the <br />municipal utility bill [via AEC] and through invoices. During 1994, the City passed Ordinance <br />#94-13 which all6ws for the certification of payments for current services that are delinquent as <br />of September I of each year. <br /> <br />This is the second year that the City of Ramsey will be certifying delinquent payments as <br />assessments to b~ collected with property taxes payable in 1997. The total of delinquent <br />payments as of th~ writing of this case was $27,102.27. This mount is anticipated to change <br />after collections t~ough October 8, 1996 are posted. The new amount will be the amount to be <br />included in the at-[ached resolution for certification. Any payments received after October 8, <br />1996, and throughlNovember 7, 1996, will be indicated as "prepaid" when the list is transmitted <br />to Anoka County for certification. <br /> <br />Attached is the resolution certifying the delinquencies and the most current list of delinquent <br />billings. <br /> <br />Hold public hearing and then motion to adopt Resolution #96-10-XXX Adopting Assessments <br />for Past-Due Charges on Municipal Utility Bills [Which May Include Water, Sewer, Street <br />Lighting, Recycling Charges and Penalties Incurred] and Current Services Rendered. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />CC: 10/08/96 <br /> <br /> <br />
