Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 96-11-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MN DOT) AN <br />ENGINEERING STUDY TO DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE SPEED LIMIT <br />FOR SUNWOOD DRIVE FROM COUNTY ROAD #56 TO COUNTY ROAD #116 <br />AND FROM COUNTY ROAD #57 TO C.S.A.H. #5 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the segment of Sunwood Drive from County Road #56 to County Road #116 has <br />recently been constructed and is presently unmarked for speed limits; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the segment of Sunwood Drive from County Road #57 to C.S.A.H. #5 has been <br />recently extended from a .03 mile segment to 1.2 mile segment now connecting with the two <br />county roads; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the newly constructed segment of Sunwood Drive between County Road #57 and <br />C.S.A.H. #5 is unposted for speed and the existing portion is posted for 30 mph; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing limits, posted and unposted may be inappropriate for the design speed <br />and new functional classification of the roadways. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study be conducted by MnDOT <br />for the purpose of determining the appropriate speed limits for the above referenced segments <br />of roadway; and <br /> <br />2) That upon completion of said study and authorizing order from the Commission of <br /> Transportation that the appropriate speed limit sign be installed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 12th day of November, 1996. <br /> <br /> <br />
