CASE # <br /> <br />INTRODUCE ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8 <br /> (BUILDING AND HOUSING) OF THE CITY CODE <br /> By: Planning Intern Kirk Skoog <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />From time to ~time, certain properties within the city have become public nuisances because <br />of failure to ~b, omplete construction or ref'mishing of buildings on that property within a <br />reasonable amount of time. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />City Staff ha~ researched other communities' <br />finishing a construction project. <br /> <br />ordinances which place a time limit on <br /> <br />Staff drafted an ordinance and presented it to the Planning Commission on November 7 for <br />their review. ~ <br /> <br />A copy of the Proposed ordinance is enclosed. A copy of the draft Planning Commission <br />meeting minutes will be available at the meeting on November 12. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and City Staff recommend adoption of the proposed ordinance <br />.to require corrlpletion of building exteriors within 12 months of the date of building permit <br />issuance. <br /> <br />CounCil Action: <br /> <br />Motiorl to: <br />Introdqce Ordinance g06-__ to amend Chapter 8 to establish time limits for the <br />completion of building exteriors. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />CC: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />11/12/96 <br /> <br /> <br />
