Mr. <br />Fitzpatrick explah!~ed that selective enforcement only occurs if it is class based, such as race or <br />religion. <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin stated that no ordinance can cover every situation. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thomd asked about the Game Fak where residents allow parking in their yards. Mr. <br />Fitzpatrick asked it~ there were any permit requirements. Mr. Schroeder explained that there were <br />no permit requireraents. <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin explained that there have been meetings regarding this, and further discussion is <br />needed. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer explained that the same restrictions should be in place for all commercial <br />vehicles, and poin!ed out that the smaller commercial vehicles with logos on the side is off-site <br />advertising. ~ <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Bawden and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to proceed with the <br />amended ordinanc~ to be presented to City Council and to schedule a public hearing. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Commissioner Thorud asked if there will be any thickness requirements for the <br />prepared surface. Mayor Hardin explained that the City would like to move this ordinance along and <br />details can be worged out in the future. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: DisCussion Regarding Proposed Connection of Snnwood Drive to T.H. #47 <br /> <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski explained that the proposed connection ofT.H. ~47 and Sunwood <br />Drive has been colntroversiaI in the T.H. //47 plan. He explained that when Amber Ridge was <br />originally platted, a [esidential street was planned for Argon Street and 147th Avenue (the stub street <br />west of Argon not aurrently connected to T.H. ~47). In the course of the T.H. ~!47. Corridor study, <br />the consultant suggested that type of alignment would have negative aspects to it. He explained that <br />this would involve the issue of having the expense of traffic signals at both 149th Avenue and 147th <br />Avenue and could Uso encourage travel through residential areas.
