Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #96-12-XXX RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR ACCEPTANCE OF PRUDENTIAL HELPING HANDS PROGRAM GRANT AND PURCHASE OF AUTOMATIC DEFIBRILLATOR DEVICE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, at the Finance Committee meeting of December 10, 1996, staff presented a request for the acceptance of an Prudential Helping Hands Program grant for the purchase of an automatic defibrillator device for the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the receipt of the grant and related expenditures were not originally authorized in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget; and WHEREAS, the grant covers 50% of the costs associated with the initial purchase and requires matching funds by the City; and WHEREAS, the automatic defibrillator device can be purchased for a total cost of $3,755.19; and WHEREAS, the matching funds are available through a budget line item re-allocation fi:om training to capital equipment; and WHEREAS, the training for use of the automatic defibrillator device can be provided by the City of Ramsey Police Department trainer. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment increasing Fire Department Capital Outlay by $3,755.19 and reducing the training budget line item by $1,877.59. That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes a budget amendment increasing 1996 General Fund Revenues by $1,877.59 for acceptance of the Prudential Helping Heart Program Grant. 3) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of an automatic defibrillator device for a cost of $3,755.19. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: i I: I I I I I' !
