I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I PUBLIC HEARING PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Pla~nning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 1996, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input regarding a Request for a Conditional Use Permit for an Off-Site Advertising Sign; Case of Holm's Super Bowl. Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden Comnussioner Benjamin Deemer Cormmssioner Paul Holland Comrmssioner Sharon Jensen Comnussioner Charles LaDue Cornrmssioner Michael Terry Cormmssioner Bradley Thorud Also Present: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik City Engineer Steve Jankowski CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:48 p.m. PRESENTATION Zoning AdminiStrator Sylvia Frolik explained that Holm's Super Bowl, Inc. is requesting a Conditional Use Permit for an off-site advertising sign. She explained that City Code restricts off-site advertising signs. CITIZEN INPUT Wayne Bidwell s~ted that the sign on Highway #10 was necessary, due to the business being located one block from Highway #10. He pointed out that a sign has been there for a number of years, and was removed for~reasons beyond the applicant's control. Mr. Bidwell stated that this was a request to replace the sign. Bill Dubats explained that he was the owner of the property and requested approval of the Conditional Use Permit. Mr. Dubats pointed out that there has been a sign there since 1979. He explained that the sign would be consistent with the neighborhood. Mr. Dubats added that the new owners of Holm~'s Super Bowl, Inc. have done a good job restoring the business.
