He explained that
the reason for this meeting is to discuss the park concept plan for the City-owned approximately 80
acres north of lthe landf'fll and residential development for the approximately 21 acres of City-
owned property north of the landfill. He showed on a map the area being discussed. He also gave
background information on how the City acquired the property through negotiations relating to the
Landfill. The roughly 80 acres is dedicated for park purposes and the roughly 21 acres is zoned
for residential, ilt's been proposed that the land north of 153rd would be sold to recover money to
pay for park d6velopment. It has not been decided how the park will be developed or when. He
noted a sketch ~)f a concept plan for the park and stated that the Park and Recreation Commission
has reviewed this concept plus the Ramsey Youth Athletic Association has some thoughts on the
development also.

John C. Peter~qon, 6512 - 153rd Lane NW, Ramsey - Why doesn't Outlot A include the whole
parcel.

Mr. Schroeder} That's how it was subdivided. Early in negotiations, we had the opportunity to
gain Outlot B gut we ended up with all of it. As far as Outlot A or B, if it's developed, it will be
re-subdivided.'

John C. Peterson - I am curious about a chunk of the ouflot - it doesn't look like it's slated for
residential.

Mr. Schroeder; All of the remainder of the land is slated for residential.

Jan Reiter, 6522 - 153rd Lane NW, Ramsey - There was supposed to be a buffer zone all around
the landfill. Ttie trees were it and we thought the land would never be built on. I don't mind the
park being developed, but I do object to the homes being built.

John C. PetersOn ~ I am afraid of multi-family.

Alpine Neighborhood Meeting/October 24, 1996
Page 1 of 7

q~
