REVIEW ORDINANCE AMENDING MAYOR'S TERM <br /> By: Ryan R. Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />Backgroun~l: <br /> <br />One of the issues the Charter Commission has been discussing is the term of the mayor. At <br />the meeting ~f November 30, 1995, staff was directed to draft an ordinance mending the <br />City Charter 9hanging the term of the mayor from two years to four years. Such ordinance <br />has been drain, ted and is being presented for your review. <br /> <br />Following review and/or any changes to the ordinance, it will be presented to the City <br />Council for ~eir introduction. At that time, a public hearing will be scheduled for citizen <br />input/comme~at. If Council then votes in favor of this ordinance, it will become effective 90 <br />days followibg publication. This ordinance could be placed for introduction on the <br />February 13 [Council agenda which would mean a public hearing would be scheduled on <br />February 27.!'
