Business Appreciation Day By: James D. Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator CASE #1 Background: As of Wednesday July 31, 1996, the City has received reservations for 26 teams and 4 hole sponsors. In addition, the City has received a sponsorship for a "hole-in-one" tournament on the 17th hole for a new car. The "hole-in-one" event is being provided by Landmark Community Bank. Currently, we have received the donation of an custom sweatshirt by Choice-pics (the company providing the hats) and McKays Rapid Auto's donation of free oil changes as door prizes. This leaves us somewhat short on the door prize selection. Attached for your,review is a list of the current team sponsors and those who have committed to the sponsorship of a hole or the donation of a door prize (an updated list will be provided at the meeting). As was.' done during the EXPO, we should divide the City into areas to be contacted by the members of the Commission. As with the Business EXPO, I would suggest the following division of the City: Allen Stafki David Kent Mary Ullen Ken Wagner Judy Roff Carolyn Nelson 167th and Highway #47 Comer Rivers Bend Plaza Area North side of Highway # 10 South side of Highway #10 & County 83 and Highway #10 Business Park (Sharp Building) Elk River Based upon this division, the event should acquire enough door prizes for the event. The Commission also needs to decide on the donation of a door prize from the members as has been the case in the past. If this is the case, then the Commission should arrange for the purchase of the prize prior to the event. Commission Action: Based upon discussion, the Economic Development Commission should make suggestions for the final planning of the 1996 Business Appreciation Day Event.
