Case #3

Business Appreciation Day
By: James D. Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

The City has scheduled the 1996 Ramsey Business Appreciation on August 21, 1996 at The
Links at Northfork. The meal will be held at JR's following the tournament. The tentative
schedule of events will be:

Registration 12:30-1:00
Tee-off 1:00-1:30
Dinner 6:00-6:30

The cost for the ~vent will be $65.00 per golfer and a cost of $15.00 for the meal only. The meal
will consist of a, two meat buffet with all of the normal side dishes. A cash bar will also be
provided.

The City has already collected 8 dozen golf balls for door prizes; however, the commission
should determine if they will be donating any door prizes. In addition the bid from The Links
includes a three Oollars per golfer in the pro shop. These funds are intended to be used for the
acquisition of additional door prizes.

The current schedule would be for the distribution of the brochure during the 2nd or 3rd week of
July with the cmt~rnission members making contact with the local businesses for the donation of
prizes and additional teams during the 2nd week of August. The brochure will also be inserted in
the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce monthly newsletter. This will be in addition to articles
in the Ramsey Resident and the Newsletter.

Currently, the C!ty has received commitments for 6-7 teams for the event. This includes the
sponsorship of ofie hole and the donation of additional door prizes. A sample of the proposed
brochure will be available at the meeting for your review and comment.

Commission Action:

Review the brochure and planned schedule of the event and suggest any changes that may be
required.

EDC: 06/06/96
Reviewed By:
Economic DevelOpment Coordinator
City Administrator
