Case #4

REVIEW THE 5 YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN (C.I.P.)
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

Each year the Park and Recreation Commission begins the 5 Year C.I.P. by a thorough analysis of
the existing 5 Yeat' Plan with emphasis on the coming year.

Observation:

As you know, a ptlblic hearing has been scheduled for the June meeting (at Central Park) to receive
comment on the C..I.P. At the conclusion of the May meeting, there should be a general consensus
of the 5 Year C.I.P. so that Staff can prepare a draft plan for discussion at the June meeting.

One issue related io the above is the projected $40,000 reduction in Landfill Trust Fund interest
earnings dedicated to the Park's C.I.P. from 1996 to 1997. Another, is the long term
programming of the Lawful Gambling Fund interest earnings.

Attached for your information:

1996-2001 Parks C.I.P.

Commission Action:

Identify draft chadges to the 5 Year C.I.P. and propose additions for the year 2002.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Parks/Utilities Supervisor

P&R: 5/9/96

/kas
