In 1994, the City ~urchased an existing facility for use as the Public Works garage at 14100 Jasper <br />Su'eet. The purcl~ase was in the amount of $310,000 with a remodeling budget of $280,000. In <br />this case the pu~hase price was programmed as stated above with the remodeling budget <br />previously progr4mmed from a building replacement account. The 1995 remodeling will be <br />complete by mid ~,ear 1996. The last payment will be in 2004. <br /> <br />In March, 1995 Council directed initiation of a 1996 Police Facility project. Contemplated is a <br />Spring/Summer ~996 construction of a $600,000 building just north of the current Municipal <br />Center Building o17 the City Hall Campus. It is proposed that the building be situated such to allow <br />for eventual expa4a, sion of the general government facilities at City Hall to connect to the Police <br />Facilities. The in~erfund loan will be retired after 20 years at 8% with the fa:st payment made from <br />the 1996 budget allowing the debt to be retired in 2015. <br /> [ <br /> r <br />The Fire Board has requested an allocation from the 1997 budget to initiate a 1998 project on Fire <br />Station #2 proposed to be located in the vicinity of 161st and Variolite. Currently projected is a <br />$300,000 pmject~,with debt retirement from 1999 to 2008. Also projected within the CIP is a <br />$200,000 expansion to Fire Station #1 located on the Municipal campus.
