Case #2

PREPARE 5.YEAR C.I.P. RECOMMENDATIONS
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

As you will reci~ll, at the May 9, 1996 Park and Recreation Commission meeting, there was a
general consensus on the relevance of most of the items within the existing 5-Year C.I.P. The
Commission also agreed to add a community center within the last year of the plan. Some of the
detail of the above discussion is included in May's meeting minutes.

Attached is the budget calendar as it relates to the C.I.P. You will note that the Commission is
scheduled to adopt it at the August meeting prior to the Finance Committee's receipt on August 27,
1996. It would Seem to be beneficial to designate one or more Commissioners (at this time) to be
present for the F]nance Committee's review in August.

Also attached is~ the existing C.I.P. Due to factors beyond Staff's control, a draft 1997-2002
C.I.P. may not be available for your review until the meeting.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends identifying changes to the 5-Year C.I.P. and propose additions for the year
2002.

Commission ,~ction:

Based on discussion.

Reviewed by:

Parks/Utilities Supervisor

P&R: 6/13/96

/kas
