COMMISsIoN INPUT <br /> <br />A general discussion took place at this time regarding various park issues. <br /> <br />City Administrat~°r Ryan Schroeder explained that interest earnings are down and the projected <br />average was $73[000 per year. City Administrator Schroeder asked what their intentions were for <br />the charitable gal~a~ bling fund. Chairperson Cook stated the money would sit for two months and if <br />not used will go Into the park's development fund. <br /> <br />City AdministratOr Schroeder asked how the Central Park lights were working. Commissioner <br />Droegemueller stated they were working great, and he would like to see a timer system for them to <br />turn off. <br /> <br />City AdministratOr Schroeder asked if the park-keeper position was working well. Commissioner <br />Droegemueller stated that ~s a great addition, he works hard to get things done and the kids love him. <br /> <br />City Administrat~ Schroeder asked if Fox Park is done yet. Jim Lacey, Maintenance Department, <br />explained they ~ere still waiting on the landscaping and paving. Chairperson Cook stated at a <br />meeting two mc}nths ago, some residents were worded about toddlers on the boardwalk. <br />Commissioner Jol~ns stated that of the neighbors she has talked to, they are comfortable with it. She <br />added that the w~ter was always there. Chairperson Cook stated that some would like asphalt for <br />bike access. <br /> <br />City Administratog Schroeder stated he has seen the Lake Itasca Boardwalk heavily populated with <br />all types of users. <br /> <br />Commissioner D~oegemueller asked about ways to patrol the trail systems as the City further <br />develops. Chairperson Cook stated that it was currently self policed by the large amount of users. <br />Community DevelOpment Intem Chmielewski suggested using bike patrol interns as the City grows. <br />Commissioner O~trum suggested a neighborhood watch type of approach. Commissioner Johns <br />stated if problemslescalate the City will react. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMEN,,T <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Ostrum and seconded by Commissioner Droegemueller to adjourn the <br />meeting. ~ <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Ostrum, Droegemueller, Johns, and <br />Skinner. Voting I'4Io: None.
