These issues relate ~to PROGRAMMING: <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />The county land local leisure providers should work cooperatively to administer more <br />recreation 15rogramming in county parks. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />The county iis rich in natural and cultural history. A clearinghouse for this information is <br />needed so that programming and program planning will be as diverse as possible. <br /> <br />I5. <br /> <br />Creative pro, gram cooperation should be sought to best utilize scarce funding sources. <br />This may o~cur in park development, park maintenance and activity programming. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />Cooperation with schools should continue and new programming methods should be <br />identified and evaluated on a continual basis. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />Networks b~tween agencies, schools, and community education programs shorild be <br />fostered. Contact list should be developed and updated regularly. <br /> <br />These issues relate to NATURAL RESOURCES: <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />There is a n~eed to identify environmental issues and concerns within the county and to <br />develop goals and objectives that leisure providers can work towards. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />Anoka County should advance the idea of conservation easements and work with <br />conservatio~ groups to create and implement goals and objectives of natural resource <br />protection alnd preservation. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />Cooperativ~ arrangements to protect and preserve city and county natural area <br />investments ishould be established; i.e. prairie management, wetlands water quality, <br />wildlife popnlations, etc. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />Comprehensive wildlife management programs are needed to continue to address issues <br />related to urban encroachment on wildlife habitat. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />The county should focus their efforts on natural resource based programs and facilities. <br />The county Should inventory and identify unique natural areas and work towards <br />preserving ~nd protecting those areas. Methods could involve other agencies and may <br />include conaervation easements, acquisition or land covenants. <br /> <br />23. <br /> <br />If additional special feature attractions are added to the Anoka County Parks System, <br />they should be natural resource based. <br /> <br /> <br />
