P.arkin_~ Areas <br /> <br />Proposed are ~rec parking areas in addition to pull~offparking along the park access road. <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />The largest is centrally located within the recreation area. The 17,000 sq.uare foot par'kh,g <br />lot will a~ccommodate 60 standard size vehicles. The primary desrinanon would be the <br />athletic fields, play m'ea and pond. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />This par ~lqing facility will be circular with a landscaped center island and will accommodate <br />approximately 35 standard size autos. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />This parking lot may be constructed in conjunction with the proposed Environmental <br />Education 0EE) facility. Ultimately, it will be needed for the above use. However, there <br />will be an overflow aspect due to varied time-related parking demands. The par'king lot <br />will court! as 20 spaces for other recreational destinations besides the EE facility. If it is <br />needed poor to fund availability for the EE site, the parking area could be graded and Class <br />V gravel l~pplied. This parking lot should accommodate buses. <br /> <br />Urbanization may result in more park users participating in shared rides and sustainable modes of <br />n-avel. In addition, increasing fuel and transportation costs should mean that the proposed 200+ <br />parNng spaces will be adeouate. The 200 spa~e figure includes "pull-off" or angled parking along <br />the park access road, but does not count bicycle, motorcycle and bus allowances. The following <br />assumptions are used in detenrfining parking needs: <br /> <br /> · One Soccer/Football Field <br /> I 1 to 20 individuals associated w/th each team .' <br /> a~tsume shared rides and alternate n-ansport~rion <br /> - Three Softball Fields -- <br /> 15 individuals associated with each team <br /> ~surned shared rides and alternate u-anspormfion <br /> · O;ne Baseball Field <br /> B~seball activity may have more driving age <br /> pm-ficipants. 30 total individuals <br /> · Tennis Courts <br /> (four court confi=mwation) Ultimately, there may be <br /> an addition of another set of four courts. This may <br /> not cause additional parldng space demands due to <br /> doubles play, neighborhood use, etc. <br /> · Pttssive Activities and Spectators <br /> Assume ten families during p~ak periods <br />Total minimum parking spaces required based on peak period needs: <br /> <br />25 spaces <br /> <br />50 spaces <br /> <br />20 spaces <br /> <br />spaces <br /> <br />] 0 spaces <br /> <br />115, (18'X 9') spaces <br /> <br />"7 <br /> <br /> <br />
