CASE #3

1996 GAME FAIR BOOTH
By: James D. Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

As the Commission is aware the City has a booth at the Game Fair for the promotion of the
economic development opportunities in the City and to reaffirm the fact that the Game Fair is
located within the City of Ramsey. The Game Fair is currently scheduled for the weekends of
August 9th - 11 th and August 16th - 18th.

As in previous years the Commission members should plan on staffing the booth during the
game fair. Ideally it works best if the booth could be staffed in 3 hour shifts to allow for the least
disruption of our: normal schedules. The intent is to have 2 people working in the booth to allow
for breaks during your shifts. If we could develop a schedule for the EDC members working at
the fair and then have the City Council and City Staff fill in the needed times. Attached for your
review is the proposed schedule of available times to work.

The EDC will also need to decide on how the booth should be laid out. A suggestion for the
layout would be similar to the booth for the Business EXPO. This layout includes the use of
pictures of the new facilities that have been recently completed in the City of Ramsey. In
addition, the City will have balloons available for people that were purchased for these types of
events.

Commission Action:

Based upon discussion the commission should make a decision as to the layout and scheduling of
the workers at the booth.

Reviewed by:
Economic Development Coordinator
City Administrator

EDC: 07/11/96
