CASE # 4 <br />AUTHOI~IZE PURCHASE OF 2-1/2 TON-TRUCK CAB AND CHASSIS AND <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR DUMP BOXy'SNOW PLOW, %WING AND SANDER <br />By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Included in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget is $75,000 for the purchase of a 2-1/2 ton <br />truck, equipp~xt with dump box, snow plow, wing and sander. This purchase is a replacement for <br />unit #607, a 1~)82, 2-i/2 ton Ford with approximately z~5,000 miles. <br /> <br />As members;of the Hennepin County Purchasing Cooperative, we have the opportunity to <br />purchase equipment through contracts already subjected to the statutory bidding laws, eliminating <br />the need to go;through the bidding process ourselves. <br /> <br />Truck Cab and Chassis: <br />The Flennepi~County Purchasing Cooperative let bids for heavy re. inks for I995 and Lakeland <br />Ford recmvedithe award. Lakeland l%rd s b~d, which meets the City's specifications for a 2-1/2 <br />ton truck cab 8nd chassis, is $41,903, plus sales tax and license. This amount is well within the <br />budget established for 1995. [Specifications attached] <br /> <br />Dump Box, St!ow Plow, Wing and Sander: <br />The Hennepi~ County Purchasing Cooperative did not let bids for the equipment the City is <br />requiring for th. is new truck; therefore, it is necessary for the City to go through the advertisement <br />of bids for the i:lump box, snow plow, wing and sander.
