As usual, the non-
routine ~tems are bulleted.

The hour/ta~ detail demonstrates that almost 300 hours during December were involved in
preparing ~e finks and warming houses, hiring attendants, grading for an additional
pleasure ~ and building a base layer of ice. The latter item comprised about two-thirds
of the sica_tiag-rehted activity.

Credit should be given :to Maintenance Workers Jim Lacey and Grant Reimer wh°
volunteered to work separate shifts during the eoolex night hours. If the flooding activity
were not toloeeur when daytime temps are coldest and split shifts were not employed, we
may not have been able to meet our goal of skatable ice by Christmas vacation.

This year .flae City added a pleasure rink to Woodland Green to address requests by
residents fg a rink in that area. The City has similar low-input neighborhood rinks at
Riverwood Hills Park, Rabbit Park and River's Bend Park. These receive maintenance by
the City oni an as-needed basis. The City's other rinks at Central Park and the R~msey
ElementaryiSchool site receive sweeping and flooding each business day except during
snowfall. Ge. ntral Park has two hockey rinks, a pleasure fink and a 1/4 mile skating path.
The school has two hockey rinks and a pleasure fink.

The attache4! map shows the distribution of finks. The January calendar is an example of
hockey rink!reservations by organized mares. (Please note: Ramsey residents are members
of teams beay~ ' g Anoka in their tide.)

The Rink Attendant's daily log sheet is a typical day in terms of rink users. A Rink
Attendant's ~uide is also attached for additional information.
