Rink Will Be Closed If:

Temperatures are 10 degrees below zero (actual temperature, not wind chill) or more and
expected to remain that wgy.

Attendant may close if weather conditions are, and expected to remain, extreme.

The following conditions are examples of closure conditions:

Very cold temperatures with excessively cold wind chills. (Generally, a closure in this
example, would be later in the evening or possibly a Weekday night. Not mornings
where conditions are likely to improve or the warming house may be expected to be
used more such as during Christmas Vacation or on weekends).

Temperatures well above freezing. (Generally, water standing on over half the rink,
with temperatures not expected to drop. [Remember, when the sun goes down,
temperatures usually fall below freezing, so start your regular shift at the regular time,
if it is to extend into the evening]).

Parks/Utilities Supervisor will determine if finks are to be closed.
Rink Reservations

Only one of the two hockey finks may be reserved by groups or individuals to exclude the general
public, except between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, when approved
teams may reserve both rinks for pre-scheduled games or practices. Rinks may not be scheduled
more than four events in advance. The rink attendant will assist with scheduling to help ensure
equitable distribution of ice times.

In the event of a conflict, the rink attendant will record both parties' names, addresses, and phone
numbers (both home and work). This information will be forwarded to the Parks/Utilities
SuPervisor who will contact the individuals the first available business day to resolve the
scheduling conflict.

A Oalendar will be posted in the warming house for scheduling only. In no case will a pleasure
rink be reserved.

Pl~se remember your primary job is to insure the safety of everyone on the premises, in addition
to enforcing the rules and polices.

Specifiq: R~ponsibilities

SuPervise fink, warming house and grounds, with safety being your primary concern.

EnfOrce rules and policies.

Keep walkways and doorways ice free.

Report safety hazards and unnatural conditions immediately!

Monitor phone use.

I
I
I
I
!
I
I
I
I'
I
I
!
i
I
I
I
!
I
I
