The City's contract for the current curbside recycling program expires on 95. Thc City Council has directed City Staff to advertise and receive bids for a hc middle of 1995. City Staffhas developed the attached bid specifications and ~ts for the new contract period of the curbside recycling program. The proposed schedule will !~ to advertise for bids, conduct a bid opening on April 28, 1995, and submit the bids to the City 0ouncil on May 9, 1995, for approval. The currently p.~oposed contract documents and program specifications include the following components to ~ program: Requirin! 1) Metal 2) Glass 3) Plasti 4) New~ the following materials for collection: containers containers : containers (with a neck) ?aper 5) Mixed paper, magazines 6) Corrugated cardboard 7) Phone books b) Biannual ~.,cycling days at which the following minimum items will be provided: 1) Six rdll-offconminers 2) All re~luired hbor for collection and removal of materials 3) Truc ~k~ing services for the delivery and removal of roll-off boxes and materials collected This contract is s~t for a term of two years and has the option of renewal for a total of two contract periods (four ye~) at the Council's discretion. For each of the renewal periods, the price for the pick-up would b~ rene§ofiated prior to the contract extension. The City and Contractor also have the option of lea'~ ing the contract by giving notice six months prior to the contract's expiration. The components of this contract have been compared with other progra__ms in Anoka County and is similar tO the m,'_ ority of the program~. Attached for your review is a draft comparison report of the different pro, rams currently offered in Anoka County. The City of Ramscy's listing has bccn updated to reflec the changes for the proposed program.
