PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSIONCITYANOKA OF COUNTY RAMSEY ~'~ ~ ~ <br /> <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The ~_.amsey Planning Commission conducted a Public hearing on Tuesday, February 7, I99,5 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to near <br />inpu~regarding a request to renew a conditional use permit for an asphalt production plant; case of <br /> <br />Co~ercial Asphalt. <br />Meffibers Present: <br /> <br />Members Ab sent: <br />Als~Present: <br /> <br />CAI~L TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner B enj amin Deemer <br />Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Teary <br />Commlssioncr Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br /> <br /> City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Chak ~erson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that on July t2, 1988 the City of Ramsey issued a conditional <br />use ~ermit (CVJP) to Commercial Asphalt to establish and operate a hot mix asphalt plant. She <br />advised that this permit has now expired and Commercial Asphalt submitted an application for the <br />issu~ce of a new CUP to continue the operation. <br /> <br />CI~ZEN INPUT <br />Ed H~milton, 6615 Highway #10 - stated that he opposes the issuing of the permit. He <br />complained that when a northwest wind occurs, he gets exu'emety nauseous while outdoors <br />becaUse the fuel oil smell is awful. <br />Br¢~t Sch.lueter, Facilities Planning and Compliance Coordinator for Commercial Asphalt, stated <br />that ~e would like to deal with Mr. H_~milton directly whenever this problem occurs. <br />Co~ssioner Hendriksen noted that the Planning Commission has received complaints in the past <br />fro~ businesses on the other side of Highway #10, referencing that the former daycare business <br />stat6d the combination of the smell of this plant and the "adult bookstore" drove them out of <br />bus'ess.
