February 05, 1993

Dear Council Members,

On 2/09/93 a public hearing is scheduled to discuss the Bison
Street improvemen~ project. The Concerned Citizens of Golden Eagle
Estates vehemently support making.Bison Street a through street
connecting with the Trott Brook Ridge development to the south, as
platted.

The -Concerned Citizens of Golden Eagle Estates consist of
approximately 23 households with over twenty children under the age
of lQ. We have stated our concerns with a series of petitions over
the ~last 4 years, along with attendance at various meetings
discussing the then proposed developments i.e. Delwood Hills and
Trott Brook Ridge. We were appeased when the city council told us
that~ Bison Street would connect up with the then proposed Trott
Brook Ridge Development to the south, alleviating some of the new
traffic through our neighborhood. Trott Brook Ridge Development has
since been platted and legally recorded to connect up with Bison
Street.

Bison Street needs to connect up with Trott Brook Ridge Development
regardless of surface (Dirt or Tar). Increased traffic, created by
recent developments along Bison Street, threatens our childrens
safety and the quality of our residential neighborhood. The traffic
use~ our neighborhood streets as a connecting link between the
developments on Bison Street to Variolite Street, more specifically
171st Ave. N.W., to Zeolite Street, to 169th Ave. or 171st Ave.
(back to the north since it jogs) and on to Variolite Street.

This traffic needs to be distributed more evenly, with Bison Street
being made into a through street. It would be extremely unfair for
Bison Street to terminate within feet of the Trott Brook Ridge
Streets that were platted to connect up with Bison Street.

What we want is an equitable distribution of the increased traffic
coming from the new developments. Keeping Bison Street a dead end
is poor planning and against the recommendations of your City staff
an~ ordinances (i.e. Planning and Zoning commission, City Engineer,
School Bus and Snow Plow Drivers, etc.). Please, please consider
ou~ position during the hearing and upon your deliberations on this
issue and make Bison Street a through street as planned. The safety
of ~ur children and the quality of our residential neighborhood is
at-stake.

S i nc~er~ ly,

Sp°kesperson, Concerned Citizens of Golden Eagle Estates

!

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
