Ms. ~tchell inquired what proper maintenance is which Mr. Jankowsld explained. <br /> <br /> Ms.;Mitchell replied that this road is past the point for proper maintenance and questioned <br /> whZ they should have to pay for mismanagement. She added that this road doesn't get <br /> much waffle. <br /> <br /> Mr.:Jankowski stated that the road does get a fair amount of traffic and added that the age <br /> of the road certainly does make a difference. <br /> <br /> Ms] Mitchell proposed that the overlay be postponed and inquired what the difference <br /> wo9Id be if it were done now or three to four years from now. She suggested if the <br /> overlay could wait a couple of years, some of the people will probably have moved out of <br /> th~neighborhood then and it becomes someone else's problem. <br /> <br /> lvlr:. Jankowski stated that if the maintenance is postponed, the City will incur the added <br /> co~t of patching potholes. <br /> <br /> Mk Mitchetl inquired what she can do to stop this improvement project. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jankowski summarized the petition process and added that he would be willing to meet <br /> with her and neighbors to discuss this issue. He stated that proper maintenance is prudent. <br /> <br /> S~ott Simpson, 15952 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, inquired who initiated the <br /> p~tition for the improvement project to which Mr. Jankowski replied that the City initiated <br /> it~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Simpson then stated he would like to meet with Mr. Jankowski and walk the street. <br /> <br /> P~Sul Bachler, 8500 - 176th Lane N.W., Ramsey, expressed an interest in seeing a copy of <br /> the report regarding the rating of streets. <br /> <br /> ~reg Ash, 8713 - 175th Lane N.W., Ramsey, inquired about petitioning against a project <br /> and the portion that the City pays. <br /> <br /> . Jankowstd then explained that process. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Coun¢ilmember Beahen to close the <br /> public hearing. <br /> <br /> ~otion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Peterson, Beahen, Beyer <br /> ~and Zimmerman.
