I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> OPTION AGREEMENT APPROVAL <br />By: Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />As Council is aware, the City will be constructing sanitary sewer and water lines out to the <br />Anoka Electric! Cooperative (AEC) facility during the summer 1995. This extension of <br />utility lines wile require the acquisition of easements across certain properties located along <br />the Burlington Northern Rail lines. It is intended that this construction will coincide with <br />the placement o~f the new electric line for the Anoka Electric Utility and the combination of <br />the the existing.g~EC transmission lines. <br /> <br />During discussions with Mr. Greenberg, the owner of the parcel abutting Sunfish Lake <br />Blvd. N.W., he ~ndicated that the entire 6. 5 acre parcel could be acquired for $20,000 plus <br />back taxes (eu~ently estimated at $13,848.04) or $5,207 per acre. The owner has also <br />stated that the!payment could be delayed until a future date. The proposed option <br />agreement indi{ates a September 1, 1995 payment, with the property transfer occurring <br />within 60 days. <br /> <br />The City will n~ed to acquire an estimated 1.8 acres for the utility/roadway easements to <br />extend the line~ across the property and to gain an 80' McKinley Street right-of-way. In <br />addition, the Ci~ty would gain clear title to Azurite Street as a portion of a land purchase. <br />The estimated p~chase price of McKinley/Utility acquisition is $6,300 plus costs.
