Hart, Finance Officer Background: Included in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget is $75,000 for the purchase of a 2-1/2 ton truck, equipped with dump box, snow plow, wing and sander. This purchase is a replacement for umt #607, a 1982,12-1/2 ton Ford w~th approximately 45,000 n-ales. On January 24, 1,995, the City Council authorized the purchase of the truck cab and chassis through Lakeland ~ord for a price not-to-exceed $41,903, plus sales tax and license. In addition, the Council direct~xt that bids be solicited for the purchase of the dump box, snow plow, wing and sander. The total~cost of the truck cab and chassis is $44,626.70 (not including license), which leaves approxima(ely $30,000 for the purchase of the box, plows and sander. Sealed bids were ~Olicited and opened on Wednesday, April 12, 1995. One bid was received from J-Craft, Inc. for all of the equipment specified and some extra options for a total of $30,588.85 [includes sales taxi, which is over and above the budget available. Public Works S,l~ervisor Merle Mevissen has reviewed the bid and recommends that the tarp system option at~ 595.88 be deleted, leaving a bid price of $29,992.97 [includes sales tax], which is within the avail .ble budget.
