Couneilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #95-04- RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF DUMP BOX, SNOW PLOW, WING AND SANDER ~' WHEREAS, included in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget is $75,000 for the purchase of a 2-1/2 ton truck, equipped with dump box, snow plow, wing and sander; and ~ WHEREAS, the Finance Committee approved, at their January 24, 1995 the purchase of one 2-1/2 ton truck cab and chassis for a price not-to-exceed $41,903 plus sales tax and license, fro~ Lakeland Ford [through the Hennepin County Purchasing Cooperative]; and :~ WHEREAS, the Finance Committee authorized the advertisement for bids for the purchase of dump box, snow plow, wing and sander for this new truck; and WHEREAS, The City Council, on January 24, t995, ratified the Finance Committee's approval of the purchase of one 2-1/2 ton truck cab and chassis and the advertisement for bids for the purchase of dump box, snow plow, wing and sander;, and : WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota bid law, bids were advertised and only the single following bid was received: ~ J-Craft, Inc. $30,588.85 [includes sales tax] ~ AND WHEREAS, J-Craft is the lowest bidder meeting the required specifications and including additional options and is over the budget available; and ~ WHEREAS, the Public Works Supervisor has determined that the elimination of the tarp system option brings the bid price down to $29,992.97 [includes sales tax]. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: oF That the Public Works Supervisor and the City Engineer are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with J-Craft, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the purchase of dump box, snow plow, wing and sander at a price not-to-exceed $29,992.97.
