He disseminated a packet of information <br />which included the areas of responsibility for this position, the budgets and the projects, <br />plus the work pl~tn. Five candidates were interviewed and he checked references on the top <br />two - Dan Well,, and Kathy Smith. He added that several had stated that Dan Wells was <br />their absolute fhst choice and his references checked out fine. Mr. Schroeder felt that he <br />could work with ;either person and either person would fit in well with the other employees. <br />He recommende,l that the position be offered to Mr. Wells. <br />Mayor Hardin ~c uired about the salary. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder replied that early on, he had stated his requests were $37,000 - $40,000; <br />last Friday he ~aid $38,500 is a good place to start negotiations. He stated to the <br />Committee that avis. McAloney's salary was at $38,546. He hoped that the Committee <br />would slot this l~osifion at Class #16 which starts at $35,919. The range of the top four <br />people was $35,000 up to $38,700.
