He added that the electriq company was requested to work with the neighbors. Mr. Fountain r,~ported that he is aware of five people north of 151st Avenue and only four have been contracted. One of the people demes any contact. He ~nquu'ed of Mayor ardm if he has had ~y discussions about a meeting with the utility company and the neighbors. Mayor Hardin atated he communicated with City Staff about it. Mr. Jankowski mentioned that he called Mr. Voss from the Anoka Municipal Company and he has not called back. Mayor Hardin assured Mr. Fountain that a meeting would be scheduled. Mr. Fountain r~ported that the Anoka Municipal Electric has heard from three of the five people and ad41ed that they (the residents) appreciate the City's efforts. He added that running the lir~e down Sunfish Lake Boulevard is a more logical place to put a 69,000 kilovolt line. Mr. Jankowski-Offered to place another call to Mr. Voss. Eric Weiss qu6stioned why this meeting about the Environmental Learning Area wasn't posted on the s.tgn out by the street. He added that the City of Ramsey is a great place to live and that si/t. ce he has lived here he has seen more wildlife than ever before. The City should slow down a bit - quit building so many developments and leave Ramsey with large acreage per hotise. Ms. Juskiewic~_ told about the dogwood that deer feed on and that her husband made a habitat for the lJ3easants. They filled a 55-gailon with acorns for the deer and they also buy corn with moriey from recycling aluminum cans. Owls live in the area also. She commented thit she moved from New York to Chicago then to Ramsey by choice. She added that shd has no problem with progression - the homes being built, etc., but expressed a co,em about too many homes being built on too little acreage. Mayor Hardin/reiterated that the lines on the map are not cast in stone and reminded the residents that aimeeting to discuss this subject is scheduled for Monday. Representatives from the Department of Natural Resources will be present, along with members of Staff and Council. He encouraged all present to attend to get something worked out. Ms. Monear suggested that community development is important as is a policy to develop parks, trails, e/c. She felt this is an opportunity to get together as a partnership and strategically pl4n. This might be the catalyst to start looking at the need to develop in the area. She voluriteered to work on such a committee. Mayor Hardin pointed out that the City has a Park and Recreation Commission and they have an extensi3,e plan which they would really appreciate having citizen input on. He commented on the five-year plan for capital expenditure, etc. He reminded the citizens that this City has l:ieen very proactive in developing parks and trails and reiterated that Parks/Utilities .Shipervisor Mark Boos would appreciate citizen input.
